Women Councils formed and capacitated by SPAN in the Tatuara Gram Panchayat of Purulia District of West Bengal found that there many families who do not even have knowledge of the government social security benefit they can have. The councils have identified such families and help them to file application for such benefit under the Samajik Suraksha Yojana of Government of West Bengal which provides provident fund, accidental and death benefit and pension for the workers of unorganised sectors. As of now 25 such families have registered under Samajik Suraksha Yojana (SSY) schemes and received related papers.
