Skill Training for Youth

Skill is considered as every such action which would help improve the 1) learning of the school students and the 2) technology enabled educational assistance and impart useful foundational skills leading to gainful employment (to be managed by Anandadhara Kajkendra, a partner organisation of SPAN), 3) mapping the available traditional and acquired skills or the 4) skills perceived as requirements locally [agriculture (seed multiplication, composting, organic farming, mixed cropping, cash crop, storage and marketing, collective producer group,  horticulture, pisciculture, water management, food processing) or 5) especially for those who migrate for work as unskilled or semi-skilled worker), who are youth.

SPAN is engaged in imparting Foundational skills leading to gainful employment to the Youth both in rural and urban areas. major skill development courses conducted by SPAN was Basic Computer training for data entry operation, General Duty Assistance on health care, Beautician courses and tailoring courses. Such Skill training program was conducted in Basanti and Patharpratima Blocks of South 24 Parganas, Matiali block of Jalpaiguri District, Baghmundi Block of Purulia District and in urban Municipalities of Kamarhati, South Dum Dum and Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas District. Skill training program benefitted around 550 Youth altogether.

Thus, skill is certainly considered as a promotion of human potential and increase productivity and yield optimally keeping a clear balance in natural resources by not emitting carbon or anything that impact global warming and climate change.
