SPAN for the years engaged with women unorganised workers both in urban and rural areas who work as domestic workers, bidi workers, fisheries workers, home based workers, ragpickers, vendors, teagerden workers and so on. one of the major objective of span to organise them in local platform and organisation and made them aware about labour rights and social security entitlements.

SPAN closely works with domestic workers and able to promote and establish a registered domestic workers union - "Pashchimbanga Griha Paricharika Samiti".

Besides SPAN establish and run "Labour Schools" - a regular discussion forum of women unorganised workers in different urban slums of North 24 Parganas districts.
